Johannesburg is considered to be the epicentre of South Africa’s creative community. The city breeds chart-topping artists who started recording out of their home studio, global fashion designers who continue to reimagine what style looks like across the world, and visual artists whose works adorn walls from Soweto to Singapore.
According to its founders, TREBLE+ is “A nightlife event expressed through creative and immersive experiences. Focused on building a tribe (community) in Johannesburg (and later growing out into many other parts of South Africa) that serves as a pulse to the cityʼs thriving creative scene,”. Created by streetwear brand and studio Backyard Group, the seasonal event is supported by an exciting lineup of fresh talent.
Everyone is welcome, but the mandate is clear: TREBLE+ is not for bystanders. “Bright lights, pulsating bass, buffalo platform shoes, choker neck pieces, cropped t-shirts, loud jewellery and head-to-toe designer is the general mandate for TREBLE+. Walking into the event you enter into a scene designed by chaos and mutability,” shares the founders.
Expect a carefully curated soundtrack formed by deep house, gqom, baile funk, amapiano, grime, and pop.
